Mulled Apple Cider
This mulled apple cider smells as good as it tastes. I love having a batch simmering on the stove on a cold day. The addition of spices to the cider give off the perfect fall aroma. I frequently have some in the evening covered with a blanket and a favorite movie on. I am always up for the cozy vibes. If you want to turn this into a cocktail, add a splash of whiskey or brandy.
Mulled Apple Cider Ingredients
4 cups apple cider
1 orange sliced into 5 pieces
2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
2 star anise, plus more for garnish
5 whole cloves
5 all spice berries
Pinch of cardamom
Add the apple cider, 3 orange slices and remaining spices to a medium saucepan. Let simmer on low heat for 20 minutes. Cut the remaining two slices of orange in half and place each half in a glass. Ladle the apple cider into glasses and garnish with a cinnamon stick and star anise. If adding alcohol, add 1 oz to each glass.
