Kir Royale
Kir Royale is a delicious French cocktail traditionally made with Champagne and crème de cassis. I decided to try it with sparkling rosé and liked it even more. You can use either if Champagne is what you have on hand. You can also substitute Chambord for the crème de cassis. The crème de cassis is a bit sweeter and is a black currant liquor. Chambord is a raspberry liquor. I recently made these to sip on at the beach with a friend and they were so refreshing. They are an ideal aperitif.
Ingredients for Kir Royale
1 oz crème de cassis (or Chambord)
5 oz sparkling rosé (or Champagne)
blackberries for garnish (optional)
sprig of fresh thyme for garnish (optional)
Directions for Kir Royale
Add the crème de cassis to a Champagne flute. Top with sparkling rosé. I like to garnish with a blackberry and a sprig of fresh thyme.
