Irish Breakfast Tea Latte
Tea lattes have become a favorite warm drink of mine over the past few years. This version uses Irish Breakfast tea which is especially fun to enjoy on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s so easy to whip up and tastes like a drink you would get at a café. Irish Breakfast tea is found at most grocery stores and comes in both caffeinated and decaf. I like to make this latte and take it with me on a morning spring walk. It’s also delicious with some fresh Irish soda bread for a festive light breakfast or afternoon treat.
Ingredients
2 bags Irish Breakfast tea
1 cup milk of choice, I used oat milk
2 teaspoons honey, or sugar
Directions
In a small bowl or pitcher, steep the 2 teabags in one cup of hot water for 3-5 minutes.
While the tea is steeping, warm the milk in a small saucepan over low heat. It should be steaming but not boiling.
Remove the tea bags from the steeped tea. Pour the tea into a 16 oz mug. Add the honey and warm milk. Stir to combine. I use a handheld electric frother to get the foam on the top. The amount of honey can be adjusted depending on desired level of sweetness.
