Blackberry Limeade
In the summer, I love to have pitchers of iced tea on hand. Last summer, I brewed some blackberry sage tea and decided to add some fresh lime juice and honey for a refreshing twist. It turned out so well! I love serving this as a nonalcoholic beverage option. This is also good with a splash of club soda for a spritz version.
Ingredients
8 blackberry tea bags*
4 cups hot water
4 cups cold water
½ cup honey
½ cup fresh lime juice
blackberries, lime wedge, fresh mint for garnish options
Directions
Heat 4 cups of hot water in a teapot. Add the tea bags to a large bowl or heat proof pitcher. Once the water is hot, pour over the tea bags and let steep 5 minutes.
Remove the tea bags, (squeezing the liquid out for maximum flavor,) add in the honey, and stir until dissolved.
Add in 4 cups of cold water and the lime juice and stir well. Serve over ice and garnish with blackberries, lime wedge, and/or fresh mint leaves.
Serves 6-8
*I used The Republic of Tea, Blackberry Sage Tea. It comes in regular and decaf versions.
