Elderflower Grapefruit Fizz

This cocktail (or mocktail) combines two of my favorite flavors, grapefruit and elderflower. Anytime I am out and about and see something on a menu with elderflower, that is always my top choice. If you haven’t had St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, you are in for a treat!  Elderflower syrup is also delicious for a mocktail version. Add a few heart shaped strawberries on top for a festive Valentine’s Day drink.

Ingredients for cocktail

2 oz grapefruit juice

1 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur

dash of bitters

5 oz sparkling rosé, chilled (Champagne or prosecco can also be used but it won’t be as pink)

2 strawberries to garnish, optional

Directions for cocktail

In a cocktail shaker, add ice, grapefruit juice, St. Germain, and bitters. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Pour 5 oz of sparkling rosé on top.

To make heart shaped strawberries, cut a v at the stem. Add a horizontal slit to the back of the strawberries so they stay on the glass.
